Jess S. Bowen, III

Jess S. Bowen, III is a "Fifth Generation" family member to operate Luff-Bowen Funeral Home. He is a native of Waverly, TN and literally "grew up" living behind the funeral home. He graduated from Waverly Central High School, The University of Tennessee in Knoxville, John A. Gupton School of Mortuary Science, and Fountain National Academy of Professional Embalming Skills. Jess was licensed as an embalmer and funeral director in Tennessee in December 1967 while attending the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and working at Mann Mortuary. He graduated from UT in March 1969 and has been employed by the family business in Waverly and McEwen since the day after graduation from UT. He has worked in the family business since the age of 13.
