J. W. Buchanan

Mr. J. W. Buchanan, age 92, of Waverly, TN, passed away Friday, May 16, 2014, in the Humphreys County Nursing Home in Waverly. Mr. Buchanan was born October 15, 1921, in Waverly, TN, to William Henry and Julie Cude Buchanan. He was married to Mabel I. York Buchanan. He was a retired Operator for the Humphreys County Highway Dept. Mr. Buchanan was a U. S. Army WWII veteran. Visitation with the family will be Sunday, May 18, 2014, from 2-8 p.m., and Monday, May 19, 2014, from 10 a.m. until funeral service time at 1 p.m., at the Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in Waverly, TN. Bro. Jeremy McFarlin will be officiating the service. Interment and military honors will follow in the Buchanan Cemetery in Waverly, TN. Active pallbearers will be Larry Buchanan, Harris Buchanan, Kenneth Buchanan, Phil Buchanan, Chris Curtis, Greg Davis, Darrel Patterson, and Kerry McIllwain.
