Mr. Maxie Harold Smith, age 91, of McEwen, TN, passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2014, in Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, TN. Mr. Smith was born July 6, 1923, in McEwen, TN, to John Walter and Lillian Annie Mae Pegram Smith. He was a retired Design Engineer for Southern Gauge in Erin, TN. He was a member of Water Valley United Methodist Church in McEwen, TN, McEwen Masonic Lodge #525, 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason and a York Rite. Visitation with the family at the funeral home, will be Thursday, September 18, 2014, from 4-8 p.m. with Masonic Service at 7 p.m. Visitation on Friday, September 19, 2014, will be from 11 a.m. until funeral service time at 1 p.m., at the Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in McEwen. Pastor Carl Hubbard will be officiating the service. Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in McEwen, TN. Active pallbearers will be Jason Wisener, Bill Bonner, Ray Turner, Dennis Smith, Joe Roark, and Leslie Hicks.
