Mrs. Mary Emo Jean Long Stewart, age 85, of McEwen, TN, passed away Monday, February 2, 2015 in the Humphreys County Nursing Home in Waverly, TN. She was lovingly known as "Mama Jean" and was a friend to all who knew her. She was born April 6, 1929, in McEwen, TN, to Samuel Thomas, Sr. and Ardath Harbison Long. She was married to Ralph Douglas Stewart, Sr. She was a retired Service Assistant for South Central Bell and a member of the McEwen Church of Christ. Her organizations include a member of the Telephone Pioneeers, Humphreys County Historical Society, former member of the Eastern Star Chapter #201 in McEwen. Most Humphreys Countians will remember her as the Correspondent with the News-Democrat paper for Tumbling Creek News for 60 years. Visitation with the family will be Thursday, February 5, 2015, from 4-9 p.m. and Friday, February 6, 2015, from 10 a.m. until funeral service time at 1 p.m., at the Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in McEwen. Bro. Jim Suddeath will be officiating the service. Interment will follow in the Sanders Cemetery in McEwen, TN. Survivors include: Son: Ralph Douglas Stewart, Jr., Cullman, AL Daughter: Kaye Redmon Crowell, Waverly, TN 4 Grandchildren: Kellie Crowell Petersen (Paul) Kenneth E. Crowell, Jr. (Barbara) Laura Stewart Ralph Douglas "Trey" Stewart, III 6 Great Grandchildren: Kensley and Maddie Crowell, Kennedy and Stevie Hastings, Ashlie and John Paul Petersen Brother: James L.
