Gloria Glee Crawford Rose

Mrs. Gloria Glee Crawford Rose, age 82, of Waverly, TN, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2015, at Alive Hospice in Nashville, TN. Mrs. Rose was born October 16, 1932, in Hoxie, Kansas, to Earl Bryan and Nova Bertha Scott Crawford. She was married to Richard "Dick" Carroll Rose. Mrs. Rose grew up on a wheat and dairy farm in western Kansas. She helped milk 38 cows and worked in the wheat fields. After graduation from high school she received a business degree from Brown Mackey Business School at age 17. She worked as a secretary in Denver, CO. She loved being an Army wife and mother. She moved to Waverly from Eldora, Iowa in 1971. In Waverly, Mrs. Rose worked as a Store Clerk at Big Star and Kent's Cee Bee Store. She was an avid golfer, bowler, enjoyed boating and all activities with her loving family. She was an excellent cook and baker, and everyone loved her pies. She and Dick retired together on September 30, 1993, and they enjoyed their retirement traveling and spending precious time with each other, family, and friends. Mrs. Rose has chosen cremation. Visitation with the family will be Saturday, March 28, 2015, from 10:00 a.m. until Memorial Service time at 11:00 a.m., at the Waverly United Methodist Church, 115 West Main Street, Waverly, TN. Pastor Thad Collier will officiate the service. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to the charity of your choice.
