Mrs. Margaret L. Boone Shanks, age 89, of McEwen, TN, passed away Saturday, September 26, 2015, in NHC Health Care Center in Dickson, TN. Mrs. Shanks was born at home on Peach Creek in McEwen, TN, on February 22, 1926, to Thomas and Elizabeth Curtis Boone. She was married to Kenneth William Shanks. She was a retired self-employed Chicken Farmer and retired Owner of the McEwen Dairy Queen. Mrs. Shanks was the "longest time" member of McEwen United Methodist Church, Charter member of United Methodist Women, taught Sunday School for over 50 years, actively involved with the youth and the church, enjoyed touring and being a Tour Leader for Shockey Tours, and was the World's Best Cook and Homemaker!! Visitation with the family will be Monday, September 28, 2015, from 4:30-7:30 p.m., and Tuesday, September 29, 2015, from 10:00 a.m. until funeral service time at 11:00 a.m., at the Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in McEwen. Rev. Joan Hubbard and Pastor Kent Curtis will be officiating the service. Interment will follow in the McEwen Cemetery in McEwen. Active pallbearers will be Brandon Shanks, Brad Shanks, Grant Shanks, Gary Shanks, Michael Gupton, Melissa Jones, and Maigan Shanks Thompson. Survivors include: 2 Sons: Ronald Shanks (Diane), Mt.
