Mildred Madden

    Mrs. Mildred Petty Madden, age 97 of Waverly, TN passed away Friday, June 17, 2016 at Waverly Health Care Center. Mrs. Mildred was a member of Concord Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was a teacher at Bellevue and Halls Creek schools, and a retired inspector with Acme Boot Company in Waverly. She was a member of Royal Chapter #13 Order of the Eastern Star in Erin, TN, an Elder at Concord Cumberland Presbyterian Church, and a hospice volunteer.  She is survived by her:  Daughter - Myra Hughes of Avenue, Maryland Son - Mike Madden (Gay) of Atlanta, Georgia Granddaughter - Melissa Madden of Atlanta, Georgia Grandson -  Gordon Hughes, Jr. of Richmond, Virginia  She was preceded in death by her: Husband - JE “Britches” Madden Sisters - Frances Perry               Virginia Petty               Mary Jewel Gibbons               Myrtle Scholes Brothers - JE Petty                       Gene Petty                 Leroy Petty Parents - Charles Leonard and Annie Price Petty                   Son-in-Law - Dr. Gordon Blackistone Hughes    Visitation will be Saturday June 18, 2016 from 5-8pm and Sunday from 1-3:30pm at Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in Waverly, TN. Funeral service for Mrs. Mildred Madden will be at 4pm at Concord Cumberland Presbyterian Church on Gander Branch Road in Waverly, TN conducted by Bro. Ronnie Burgess. Interment will follow in Concord Cemetery. Mrs. Madden requested donations be made to Concord Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
