Ruth Herring King

Mrs. Ruth Herring King, age 95, of Waverly, TN, passed away Friday, August 5, 2016, in the Humphreys County Nursing Home in Waverly. Mrs. King was born March 17, 1921, in Corinth, MS, to Emory George and Mattie Layton Wilson Herring. She was married to Alvin Connelly King. She was a member of the Waverly Church of Christ, where she served as Church Secretary for 18 years. Mrs. King was a retired Licensed Practical Nurse, former Secretary for the Humphreys County Chamber of Commerce, former Secretary for Attorney Danny Bradley, and a former Dietician for Waverly Jr. High School. She enjoyed traveling. Visitation with the family will be Thursday, August 11, 2016, from 4:30-7 p.m., and Friday, August 12, 2016, from 10 a.m. until funeral service time at 11 a.m., at the Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in Waverly. Bro. Kyle Mashburn will be officiating the service.
