Carolyn Griffis

Mrs. Carol Diden Griffis of Murfreesboro, TN age 80, passed away on October 6, 2017. Mrs. Griffis was born June 14, 1937 in Wartburg, TN. She was the daughter of the late Ezekiel Diden and Imogene Sexton Diden. Mrs. Griffis had been a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church of Waverly, TN. for many years.In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Bobby Gene Griffis and one sister, Peggy Brown.Her survivors include two sons: Ricky Gene Griffis (Debbie) of Murfreesboro, TN. and Randy Allen Griffis and Malena Moore of Moore, OK.; 5 granddaughters: Fallon Templeton (Eric) of North Carolina, Brittany Shea Griffis of Dickson, TN., Whitney Young (B.Y.), Hayley Swindell (Ryan) and Randi Morgan Griffis all of Murfreesboro, TN. 2 great grandsons, Kallen Templeton and Landon Young: 2 brothers, James Donald Diden (Ina) of Harriman, TN. and Ronnie Allen Diden (Carol) of Wartburg, TN.; 2 sisters, Mary Ann Melton (Ralph) of Tucker, GA. and Judy Arms (Burlin) of Waverly, TN. Several loving nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and her special little dog Willy.The family will receive friends Monday, October 9, 2017 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Schubert Funeral Home in Wartburg with the funeral to follow at 7:00 p.m. with Bro. Adam Garrett officiating. Graveside will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in the Morgan Memorial Gardens in Wartburg, TN.
