Amy Celeste Hicks Baker

Amy Celeste Hicks Baker, age 54, of Coopertown, TN, passed away on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at St. Thomas Midtown in Nashville, TN. She was born on June 3, 1969, in Waverly, TN, to John David Hicks and June Faye Ross Hicks. Amy graduated at Waverly Central High School in 1987.  She then attended APSU and graduated with a Bachelor in Science in 1991 and taught art, grades kindergarten through the fifth grades in Metro Nashville Public Schools at Joelton Elementary  where she was Teacher of the Year in 2014. She was a member at Cumberland Valley Cumberland Presbyterian Church and attended Mt. Sharon CP Church in Greenbrier, TN. She was a strong supporter of her family, especially her husband and children. Amy never wavered in her faith through all seasons in her life. Amy’s family will remember her as a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 28 years, Chris Baker of Coopertown, TN, son,  Jakob Baker of Coopertown, TN; daughter, Jenna Baker of Coopertown; TN; mother and father, June Ross Hicks and John Hicks of Waverly; TN; sister, April Warmath (Mark) of Clarksville, TN; niece, Haley Hunter (Logan); nephews, Dustin Warmath and Baker Bachman; great niece, Lilliana Hunter; great nephew, Dawson Hunter; mother in law, Donna Baker; sister in law, Tracy Dye (Barry); Amy is also survived by several aunts, uncles and numerous cousins.

Amy is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, T.D. and Virginia Ross; paternal grandparents, Ferbie & Flossie Hicks; father in law, Larry Baker.

Visitation for Mrs. Amy will be held on Sunday, June 11, 2023, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and on Monday, June 12, from 10:00 AM until the service beginning at 11:00 AM, at Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in Waverly, TN.  Rev. Kim Moore & Bro. Dakota Norris will be officiating the service.  Interment will be held at Ross Cemetery in McEwen, TN.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital or a charity of your choice in memory of Amy.
