Anne Louise Spicer

Anne Louise McCord Spicer, age 98 of Waverly, TN formally of Nashville, TN passed away surrounded by her family on Monday, February 19, 2024 at Humphreys County Nursing Home. She was born in Tennessee City, TN on August 13, 1925 to the late Nell and Rice McCord. Mrs. Spicer attended McEwen High School. After graduating, she worked in Oak Ridge, TN for the War Department Atomic Program for 2 years. Mrs. Spicer attended Droughans Business College and Hillsboro High School Adult Accounting Class. She became a member of the Church of Christ at an early age and always placed her membership, worshipped and was active in the Church of Christ in every city she resided in. In 1965, she and her daughter moved to Nashville, TN. She was a current member at Woodson Chapel Church of Christ in Nashville, TN. Mrs. Spicer worked in different divisions of Genesco for 33 years. At the time of her retirement she was with Genesco Employee Credit Association.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Nell Spicer Diesel; 3 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; 4 nieces; 1 nephew and numerous great nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Spicer is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Kathryn Deck, Mary Sutton, Delores Ridings, Westelle Newman and Dorothy James

A visitation for Mrs. Spicer will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Luff-Bowen in McEwen, TN beginning at 10:00 A.M. until the time of the graveside service at 2:00 P.M at McEwen Cemetery.
