Becky Scurlock-Whisenhunt

Becky E. Scurlock Whisenhunt, 52 a resident of Cleveland passed away Monday in a local hospital.
Becky Scurlock Whisenhunt, a beloved daughter of Harold and Sheila Scurlock, born September 14, 1969 in Waverly, TN and later made her home in Cleveland, TN. Becky received her Bachelors of Science in Education from Lee University, Masters of Science in Educational Administration & Educational Specialist Degree (Ed.S) from Lincoln Memorial University.
Becky taught at Taylor Elementary School in Bradley County for 16 years then transitioned to middle school at East Lake Academy of Fine Arts in Hamilton County.
Becky sparked joy for learning and adored each child she taught. She made lasting friendships everywhere she went with her giving and loving spirit, which was shown by her nomination to the Pay it Forward program. By seeing the physical needs she helped to found Steps For A Family Ministry, for going above and beyond what was ever asked to give to the children in her community. Becky followed her faith devoutly in God and Jesus Christ. Everyday she chose to live by faith not fear for herself and inspired everyone around her. Lakeview Community Church was where Becky attended and volunteered. Becky married Chris Whisenhunt in 2007. When Becky gained the title of being a mother there was nothing she cherished more on earth than being mom to Marcus Travis Whisenhunt.
On May 30, 2022 Becky was welcomed into her heavenly home, reunited with her sister, Marla Scurlock-Sharp. She will always be remembered by her contagious smile, her heart for everyone. If you came into contact with her you knew love as she so graciously gave it. When we swim, sunbathe, and see the flowers bloom in the summer we will think of Becky.
Becky Scurlock-Whisenhunt is survived by her husband, Christopher Whisenhunt; Son, Marcus Whisenhunt; Father and Mother, Harold & Sheila Scurlock. As well as: Joshua and Latishua Scurlock, Jordan Sharp, Kaylea and Taylor Spurlin, Travis and Darlene Whisenhunt, Tammy Whisenhunt and Jada Brisendine.
The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted on Thursday June 2, 2022 at 2 P.M. at Jim Rush Funeral Home, North Ocoee Street Chapel Cleveland, TN. The family will receive friends Thursday from 11 A.M. until 2 P.M. at the funeral home. Immediately following you are invited to join family and friends as we celebrate the life she so loved, and rejoice with her knowing she is free with our heavenly Father as well as loved ones that have gone before us.
On Friday June 3, 2022 there will be a visitation from 11 A.M. until 2 P.M. CST at Luff Bowen Funeral Home in Waverly, TN. The Graveside Service will follow at 3 P.M. at Saint Andrews Episcopal Church Cemetery, New Johnsonville, TN.
