Bernice Stewart Sanford Pinkley

Mrs. Bernice Stewart Sanford Pinkley, age 86, of Nashville, TN and formerly of Waverly, TN, passed away Friday, May 8, 2020, at St. Thomas Midtown Hospital in Nashville, TN. Mrs. Pinkley was born June 22, 1933, in Waverly, TN, to Jasper Jefferson Stewart and Bertha Lillian Turner Stewart. She was a member of Waverly United Methodist Church. The last 4 years, Bernice had made her home at Knowles Assisted Living in Nashville. Bernice never missed a holiday or famiily gathering and being with her close family. Being the oldest of the "Stewart Clan" left, her family all enjoyed her stories of the "old days". In her younger years, Bernice was very talented in cosmetology as the Owner/Operator of "The Shamrock Beauty Salon." There are many women in Waverly who brag how she changed their appearance for the better. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the charity of your choice. A graveside service and interment will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 16, 2020, at the J. Warren Cemetery in New Johnsonville, TN. Dr. John Carpenter will be officiating the service. Survivors include: 3 Grandchildren: James Tomlinson, Jr., Nashville, TN Cindy Tomlinson George (James Halcumb), Nashville, TN Angela Sanford Trevisan (John), New Jersey 5 Great Grandchildren: Preston George, Kendall George, Bentley Halcumb, John Trevisan, and Nicholas Trevisan 2 Sisters: Betty Stewart, Nashville, TN Jackie Stewart Bass, Camden, TN 6 Nieces: Susan Stewart, Bethany Stewart Brown (Bob), Lesia Stewart Marshall (Ron), Tracey Stewart Bibby (Paul), Mindy Featherstone Boyd (Troy), and Charlotte Stewart Hethcoat (Alton) 4 Nephews: Russell Stewart (Brenda), Steven Stewart (Debra), Jeff Stewart, and Phillip Featherstone (Larisa) 2 Sisters-in-law: Dot Stewart and Martha Lou Stewart, both of Waverly, TN Special Cousin: Marie Slagle (Bruce), Burns, TN Many loving Great Nieces, Great Nephews, Cousins, and Friends who mourn her passing "Gone but not forgotten."
