Mr. Clarence Lafayette Hatcher, age 88, of McEwen, TN, passed away Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at his home, from COVID-19. He was the son of the late Jossie and Francis L. Hatcher. He was married to his late wife Agnes for over 54 years. Clarence was a retired machinist from Southern Gage in Erin, TN. He was a Past Master and member of the McEwen Masonic Lodge #525 and a member of the Eastern Star Royal Chapter #213 in Erin, TN. He was also a member of the Curtis Chapel Methodist Church. Clarence is survived by his children: Stanley (Susan) Hatcher of Clinton, UT; Roger (Freda) Hatcher of Louisville, KY; Mary Jo Hatcher of Clarksville, TN; Karen Hatcher of McEwen, TN and William Hatcher of Dallas, TX. Grandchildren: Daniel (Missy) Hatcher of Kingsport, TN; Eric (Ashley) Hatcher of Wesley Chapel, FL. Extended family: Nikki, Stuart, Sidney & Karsen, Shanna & Kylah. Sisters: Inza Downey of Morris, IL; Helen Roberts of Waverly, TN; Jackie (Ray) Cook of McEwen, TN and a host of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents: Jossie Ida Profitt Hatcher and Francis Lafayette Hatcher; wife Lossie Agnes Taylor Hatcher; sisters: Hattie Streetman, Maye Cable, Evone Mayberry, Shirley Inman, Sue Leegon and brother: Leon Hatcher. Visitation with the family will be Saturday, October 2, 2021, from 4:30 PM until 8:00 PM with a Masonic Service at 7:00 PM, at the Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in McEwen, TN. Sunday, October 3, 2021 visitation will be from 11:00 AM until funeral service time at 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Curtis Chapel Cemetery in McEwen, TN. The family is requiring all in attendance to wear a mask and practice social distancing. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to: McEwen Masonic Lodge #525, P.O. Box 191, McEwen, TN 37101.
