Delmar Woodrow Law

Delmar Woodrow Law, age 92, of Humphreys County went home to be with the Lord on February 13, 2024, at Vanderbilt Hospital.Mr. Law was born November 12, 1931, in Firebrick, Lewis County, Kentucky, the third of eight children of William Marcus and Viola Blankenbeckley Law and grandson of James Harvey and Hannah Scott Lewis Law and John Henry and Mary Isabell Lewis Blankenbeckley, all of whom predeceased him. He married Patricia “Jean” Puckett, in West Liberty, Morgan County, Kentucky  on June 30, 1954. In his early life in Kentucky he was a farmer. In 1950 he moved to Michigan where he  was employed by Ford Motor Company, Dearborn, Michigan for forty-one years; the last several years as a programmer of robotic welders.  After retiring from the automobile industry in 1991, he moved to his adopted home in Humphreys County in 1993. He was a former Cub Scout leader and had been a long time member of the Humphreys County Historical Society. He was a member  of the Christopher Strong Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution. He was a member of Old School Baptist Church; and was  devoted to his Lord and Savior, his family, friends and his country. He was a devoted Grandfather.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, February 19, 2024 at Luff-Bowen Funeral Home Chapel in Waverly, TN. Pastor Gary Wallace, and dear Grandson Evan Tonks will be officiating the service.  Interment will follow at McKeel Cemetery, Cuba Landing, Tennessee.  Pallbearers will be William Gee, Evan Tonks, Jake Wheat, Thomas O'Connor, Lliam Collins and Russell Downing.

Survivors include son, Perry Mark (Margaret) Law, White Bluff, daughter, Julie Alice (Howard) Bowes, Waverly; granddaughters, Christina Anne (Thomas) O’Connor, Camden, Tennessee, Shelby Lauren  (Russell) Downing Eva,  Tennessee and Josie Hannah (Jacob) Wheat, New Johnsonville, Tennessee, grandson, Evan Landry Law  (Courtney) Tonks, Waverly, Tennessee; great grandsons, Lliam Collins, Camden, Tennessee, and Silas Tonks, Waverly, Tennessee. Also surviving are sisters Phyllis Rich, Fairdale, Kentucky, and Ruth Bowling, New Boston, Ohio and numerous nieces and nephews. 

 He is predeceased by his wife Patricia “Jean” Law  of 67 years and by brothers, John, Leslie, Donald, James and Kenneth Law. He was also predeceased by sisters-in-law, Dorothy, Betty,  Flora and Sybil Law, brothers-in-law, Kenneth Bowling and Ray Rich; nephews, Glen and Danny Law, niece, Donna Basford. He was also predeceased by son-in-law, Craig Tonks.
