Dolores "Tillie" McCord Chappell Ridings

Mrs. Dolores “Tillie” McCord Chappell Ridings, age 92, of McEwen, TN, passed away Monday, January 27, 2020, in Waverly, TN. Mrs. Ridings was born September 17, 1927, in Tennessee City, TN, to Calvin Rice McCord and Nellie Heany McCord. She was married to John Lee Chappell from 1947 until his death in 1969 and Layton Ridings from 1975 until his death in 1981. Mrs. Ridings was a member of McEwen Church of Christ. Visitation with the family will be Friday, January 31, 2020, from 4-8 p.m., and Saturday, February 1, 2020, from 9 a.m. until funeral service time at 11 a.m., at the Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in McEwen, TN. Mr. Billy Buttrey will be officiating the service. Interment will follow in the McEwen Cemetery in McEwen, TN. Survivors include: Daughter: Dorothy “Dottie” Phy (Barry), Dickson, TN 2 Grandsons: Mitchell Phy, Dickson, TN Thomas Phy (Kelly), Dickson, TN Great Granddaughter: Cali Rose Phy, Dickson, TN Great Grandson: Cantlon Welch Phy, Dickson, TN 1 Sister: Anne McCord Spicer, Waverly, TN (formerly of Nashville, TN) Preceded in death by: Husbands: John Lee Chappell and Layton Ridings Parents: Calvin Rice McCord and Nellie Heany McCord 4 Sisters: Kathryn McCord Deck, Mary McCord Sutton, Westelle McCord Newman, and her twin, Dorothy McCord James The family wishes to thank the nurses, caregivers, and staff of  Humphreys County Nursing Home for their kind support and loving care.
