Dorothy Ladd

Dorothy Ladd, age 84 of Sevierville, TN passed away surrounded by her daughters, Thursday, December 7, 2023, at Brookdale Senior Living. Dorothy was born on September 17, 1939, to the late Cecil and Edna Butler. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Dorothy had a fulfilling career as a teacher at Waverly Central High School and Humphreys County Vocational Center.  She attended church at Trace Creek Baptist Church in New Johnsonville, TN then moved to Sevierville where she attended First Baptist Church of Sevierville, TN. Her favorite activities were reading, visiting with friends, worshiping with her church life group, and shopping. Dorothy’s greatest accomplishment and love was being “Nonny” to her grandchildren.  

Left to cherish Dorothy’s memory are her daughters, Susan Howard of Sevierville, TN and Shelley Brewer (Kevin) of Camden, TN; grandchildren – Jessica, Jarrett, and Thomas Neblett and Layne and Peyton Latham; and three great-grandchildren.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” T. Ladd, and her son, William Barrett Ladd.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, December 15, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. at Richlawn Cemetery in Waverly, TN. Officiating the service will be David John Roberts.
