Gary Edward Jones

Mr. Gary Edward Jones, age 75, of McEwen, TN passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at St. Thomas Hospital West. Gary was born on June 6, 1948 in Humphreys County, TN to the late Mr. Verlie Jones and Elmea Davidson Jones. He served our great nation in the United States Army. He worked for over 20 years in Illinois. He was a pillar of strength, love and wisdom to all who knew him. His legacy of kindness and compassion will forever live on through the lives he touched.

Gary is preceded in death by his parents; 4 brothers, Thomas, Buford, Bill and Paul Jones; 1 sister, Becky Moran; and a long time friend and brother-in-law, Leon Sullivan.

He leaves to cherish his memory, 2 children, Gregory (Florence) Jones of Belgium and Patricia (Andy) Jones of McEwen, TN; 3 grandchildren, Nicholas and Nadia, both of McEwen, TN and Alexander of Belgium; 1 sister, Anerbell Sullivan of Colona, IL, and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at Luff-Bowen in Waverly on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. We welcome all who would like to pay their respects to join us in celebrating his life and remembering the incredible person he was.
