Irene Pauline Urban Watzlavick

Irene Pauline Watzlavick, age 70, of McEwen, TN, passed away on Monday, November 21, 2022, at her home surrounded by her daughters and loved ones.  Irene was born on June 28, 1952, in Houston, TX, to Carl John Urban and Lonie Weisepape Urban.  Irene was a medical secretary where she worked at the Turney Center Industrial Prison. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and Nana. She enjoyed cooking, watching her favorite television shows, and spending precious time with family and friends.

Left to cherish her memory are her 3 daughters: Renee Whaley (Allen), McEwen, TN; Melissa Watzlavick Grissom, McEwen, TN; and Julia Watzlavick, Dickson, TN; One Sister: Elise Hall, Almeda, CA; 4 Grandchildren; Ethan Grissom (Lindsey), Mekenzie Whaley, Allissa Grissom, and Hannah Whaley, one Great Grandchild; Parker Grissom, Sister in law; Tina Worley (Dave), Waverly, TN, and Brother in law; Michael Watzlavick (Jayne), Tomball, TX. She also leaves several cousins, and extended family in Texas and nieces and nephews in Tennessee.

She is preceded in death by her husband Alphonse “AL” Watzlavick and her parents Carl and Lonie Urban.

Visitation for Irene Watzlavick will be held on Sunday, November 27, 2022, at Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in McEwen, TN, from 3PM – 6 PM, and on Monday, November 28, beginning at 11 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM.  Interment will follow at Meadowlawn Cemetery in McEwen, TN.
