James Darrell (J.D.) Ingram Sr. passed away at home Saturday, July 29, 2023. He was born July 15, 1941 in Dato, Arkansas to James and Lula Mae Ingram. The Ingram family moved to Waverly from Missouri in 1953. James attended Waverly Elementary and Waverly High School until he joined the Air Force in 1958 and served until 1962. During that time he married Carolyn Ann Claar. They were married in 1960 and blessed to celebrate 63 years together. During these years they parented 3 children, Deborah Ann, Audra Lynn, and James Darrell (J.D.) Ingram, Jr. James and Carolyn resided in Arizona since their marriage until 1966 then they moved to Ohio until 1974 at which time they moved to their present home in New Johnsonville. J.D. worked at E.I. Dupont from 1974 until his retirement in 2000. Through their years of marriage they traveled, camped, and toured most of the U.S., Europe, Hawaii, and 3 summers in Alaska.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Debbie, and sister, Sue Dorshel. He was survived by his wife Carolyn, daughter Audra Lynn (Mike), son J.D. Jr., (Donna), siblings, Shelba Jean Compton (David), Harold Lee Ingram (Stephanie), 9 grandchildren and 5 great grand children.
Services will be held at Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in Waverly, Thursday August 3, 2023. Visitation will begin at 6:00 P.M. followed by a short service.
