James Earnest Young

Mr. James Earnest Young, age 86, passed away at his residence surrounded by his family on Friday, April 19, 2024. Jim was born in McEwen, TN, on October 18, 1937, to the late Helen Marie Curtis Young and William Austin Young.  Jim enjoyed farming, fishing and traveling. He was a devoted member for 20 years at the Christ Community Church in McEwen, TN. Jim will be remembered by his family and friends as a loving husband, father, papa, brother, uncle and friend.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 65 years, Rose Young of McEwen, TN; children, Timothy Dale Young (Norma) of Erin, TN, Tina Louise Rowland of White Bluff, TN, Terry Lynn Young of McEwen, TN and Tammy Lanette Tomlinson of Erin, TN; 7 grandchildren, Erica Hinson (Jarrod) of Burns, TN, Judy Rowland of White Bluff, TN, Lyndsey Marie Beckham of IL, Jessica Elston (Jerome) of Franklin, TN, Malory Young of McEwen, TN, Haley Terrazas (Mauricio) of Burns, TN And Bethany Rumfelt (Colten) of Erin, TN; 8 great-grandchildren, Ethan Hinson, Lee Hinson, Casey Rumfelt, Evalyn Brown, Elaina Brown, Case Brown, Nora Elston and Liam Elston and 3 brothers, Max Dwayne Young (Eva Nell) of McEwen, TN, William Reece Young (Ruth) of McEwen, TN and Alan Dean Young (Carole) of McEwen, TN; sister-in-law, Faye Young of McEwen, TN and numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, Jim is preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Young and son-in-law, Terry Lee Tomlinson.

A visitation for Jim will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at Christ Community Church in McEwen, TN beginning at 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and also on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at 12:00 P.M. Officiating the service will be Pastor David Lucas. Interment to follow at Knight Cemetery off of HWY 231.
