John David VanSickle

Mr. John David VanSickle, age 87, of McEwen, TN, passed from this life on Saturday, February 19, 2022.  Mr.VanSickle was born in Greenup Co. KY, on May 15, 1934, to Fred and Ether Fetters VanSickle.

John Retired in 1998 from the University of Toledo in Ohio where he was a custodian. He then moved to McEwen, TN. and worked for Humphreys County Convenience Center for many years.  He would witness his love for his Lord and Savior to anyone that had an open ear.  He also liked to tell his Indian stories.  John loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and boating.  He spent numerous hours on his tractor gardening and enjoyed being on his lawn mower.  He was an avid baseball player and coached girls softball for 5 years.  He was on numerous bowling leagues.  He enjoyed playing horseshoes and won many trophies.  He also won many tournaments playing corn hole.  He loved playing Eucher whenever we had family gatherings.  He leaves his family with many happy memories spent together. He was a member of Pine Hill Church of the Nazarene, where he played his bass in the band.

There will be a celebration of the memories of an amazing man held on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at 11:00 AM, at the Pine Hill Church of the Nazarene on White Oak Rd. in McEwen, TN. In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to be made to the charity of your choice in memory of Mr.VanSickle.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Fred and Ethel Fetters VanSickle, 2 Sisters, 3 brothers, & one grandchild.
