Kay Fuson Hampton

Mrs. Kay Fuson Hampton, age 73 of Waverly, TN, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2022. She was born on January 19, 1949 in Hazard, Kentucky to Homer Fuson and Westelle Bone Fuson. Kay worked for the Humphreys County Board of Education as a teacher for many years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Waverly, the Civitan Club, Humphreys County Retired Teachers Association, and Tennessee Education Association. She later became a Humphreys County Commissioner.

A graveside service will be held at Richlawn Cemetery, Saturday, November 12, 2022 at 11:00AM. Pallbearers who will serve are Jason Hampton, Wallace Ray Hampton, Jr., Weston Mitchell Hampton, Donald Lee Robertson, Phillip Ray Daniel, and Christopher Wilkins. Dr. Scott Brown will officiate the service.

She leaves to cherish her memory, two sons, Wallace Ray Hampton, Jr. (Renee) of Savannah, Georgia and Jason Hampton (Michelle) of Murfreesboro, TN; four grandchildren, Weston Mitchell Hampton, Kelsea Hampton Wilkins (Christopher), Whitley Hampton, and Emilee Hampton; two nieces, Lindsay Fuson and Kelly Fuson McCullar; great-grandson, Jordan Gabriel Hall and her aunt, Roberta Latimer (Woody) of Harvest, Alabama.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Westelle Bone Fuson; her husband, Wallace Ray "Coach" Hampton; her brother, John McKeel Fuson; maternal grandparents, Crockett and Ora Bone; and paternal grandparents, Charles and Clyde Fuson.
