Madge Earline Forrest Danley

March 21, 1926 — February 1, 2022

Madge Earline Ellison Danley, age 95 of Waverly passed away Tuesday February 1, 2022 at Humphreys County Nursing Home in Waverly after a long illness. She was born March 21,1926 to the late L. E. Forrest and Iola Lashlee Forrest. Ms. Madge, as she was so fondly known, was a member of Halls Creek Cumberland Presbyterian Church, a fifty year plus member of the Order of the Eastern Star and in past years an active member of the Ladies Golf Association. She was a lady of many talents, she taught Sunday School class at Halls Creek for many years, she enjoyed gardening, cooking and her tailor made sewing that she did for many years. She loved her family and everyone else's family that came thru her door, always making them feel welcome and with something good to eat. But most of all she loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Although her mental state was altered, in just the past month she could be heard singing Jesus Loves Me thru the hall of the Nursing Home. She was preceded in death by her first husband and the father of her children, Jesse Ellison, her second husband, Edward Danley, her son, Donald J. Ellison, and three brothers, Max, Herman and Harold Forrest. Survivors include daughters, Marjorie Hunt (John) of Waverly; Linda Gladden (Larry) of McEwen; three grandchildren, Jeff Hunt (Michelle) Lakeway, TX; Sonya Kennedy (Mike) of Troy, MO; Kevin Hunt of Colorado Springs, CO; Four great-grandchildren Michael Sawyer of O'Fallon, MO; Christina Bunfill of St. Charles, MO; Cole Hunt of Houston, TX; and Renee Hunt of Lakeway, TX. Two great-great grandchildren, Tein Anderson and Savannah Sawyer. Daughter-in-law Darla Ellison and sister-in-law Irma Forrest both of Waverly. A graveside service and interment will be held Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at 1:00pm at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens with Bro. Tom Jehnzen officiating at the service. Music will be provided by Bro. Joel Nulty. In lieu of flowers the family request that any donations be made to Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery Fund for upkeep and maintenance.
