Malcolm R Hemby, Jr.

Malcolm “Mack” R Hemby Jr., of Waverly, passed away Monday, September 4, 2023 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 4, 1949 in Nashville, TN to the late Lillibee and Malcolm R Hemby Sr. Mack was a member of the Waverly Church of Christ. He enjoyed fishing and riding boats. Mack helped anyone in need, it didn’t matter the circumstance. He retired from DuPont after 44 years. Mack’s joy in life was farming and his family. He will be remembered by his family as a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.

Left to cherish his memory is wife of 50 years, Sue Anne Hemby; children, Lara Wallace (Gary) of Waverly, TN, William Hemby (Nicole) of Waverly, TN and April Hemby-Little (Johnny) of Waverly, TN; grandchildren, Kalee Hemby, Dawson Wooten and Kassidy Little; great grandson, Waylon Wooten; brother, Terry Hemby (Cheryl) and sister, Nancy Frady.

Along with his parents, Mack is preceded in death by his grandson, Malcolm Layne Hemby.

A visitation for Mr. Hemby will be held on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at Luff-Bowen in Waverly beginning at 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and also on Thursday, September 7, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. until the time of service at 2:00 P.M. Officiating the service will be Bro. Ronnie Hughes. Interment to follow at Hemby Cemetery in Waverly, TN.
