Mrs. Margaret “Maggie” St. Clair Povlin, age 92, of Waverly, TN, passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2019, at her home in Knoxville, TN. Maggie was born December 10, 1926 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Bert Ellis St. Clair and Lulu Risley St. Clair. She was a retired teacher for the Humphreys County Board of Education. She attended the Waverly United Methodist Church and was a member of the Waverly Lions Club. She is survived by her husband of nearly 65 years, Billy Povlin. Maggie is a graduate of Indiana University and had a career in education, while supporting Billy in his career with DuPont. They moved to Waverly in 1958 and immediately became active in the community, with the United Methodist Church, the Lions Club, Chamber of Commerce and many others. Maggie and Billy enjoyed traveling and went on 14 different cruises throughout the world. She also enjoyed sports and especially enjoyed watching the Waverly Tigers Basketball Teams throughout the years. They enjoyed Tigers Basketball so much that the team dedicated two seats for Maggie and Billy to assure them of good seats for home games. She is also survived by: Son – Jay Povlin and his wife Louise of Knoxville, TN 3 Grandsons – Jack, Jared and Joshua Povlin She is preceded in death by her parents Bert Ellis and Lulu Risley St.Clair, her daughter Leeza Povlin McKee and her sisters, Jeannette St. Clair Meihsner and Elsie St. Clair Boles. Visitation with the family will be held at Luff Bowen Funeral Home in Waverly, TN, on Friday, July 19, 2019 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. On Saturday, July 20, 2019, the family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 AM, until the Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 AM, both being held at the Waverly United Methodist Church in Waverly.
