Mattie Lorene Work

Mattie Lorene Work, age 83, passed away Saturday, January 7, 2023. She was born on July 22, 1939 to the late Harvey and Lillie Hicks in Humphreys County, TN. Mattie was a strong, independent woman. She was a hard worker. Mattie enjoyed spending time with her family and fishing. Mattie’s family and friends will remember her as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.  

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Patricia Reese (Dan) of Waverly, TN and Elaine Simmons of Adams, TN; grandchildren, Kellie Reese, Delana Lowe, Adam Reese, Bethany Summers, Dwayne Pirtle, Katie Pirtle and Blake Pirtle. Mattie is also survived by great grandchildren, Paige McGowan, Kayleigh Damesworth, Cole Reese, Ethan Brewer, Maegan Brewer, Chrissa Reese, Cason Reese, Maddie Pirtle and Elijah Pirtle.

Along with her parents, Mattie is preceded in death by her son, Kenneth E. Pirtle and grandchild, Christin Reese.

A memorial visitation will be held beginning at 10:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M.
