Paula Evelyn Huff

Paula Evelyn Huff, age 79, of Waverly, TN passed away peacefully in the afternoon on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at the Tennessee State Veterans Home in Clarksville, TN. Paula was born in Pen Argyl, PA on May 8, 1943, to the late Paul Lightener and Evelyn Stella Andrews. She was the oldest of 5 children.

Paula was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. She was an avid crafter and dog lover. Paula lived most her life as a proud “domestic engineer” as the mother of 3 daughters. In the 1980s and 1990s, she and her husband, Girdley owned a top AKC bloodline, Chrisbonli silky terriers. Although Paula battled with mental illness, she was the best “Tiger Mom” possible, encouraging all 3 of her daughters to graduate college with education degrees.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Lisa Hart (John) of Seabrook, TX; Bonnie Bentley (Michael) of McEwen, TN and Christy Barnes (Bobby) of Nobelsville, IN; brother, Paul Andrews of New York City, NY; sisters, Sue Young of Allentown, PA and Helen Luksan of Seattle, WA. Paula is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Staci Farrar (James), Stefani Williams, Stephen Williams, Brittany Barnes, Santana Williams, Elizabeth Bentley (Isaac), Christopher Barnes, Victoria Bentley, Jonnie Sue Hart and Alexandria Bentley; and 4 great grandchildren.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Girdley Huff; sister, Frannie Ruth Andrews and her precious granddaughter, Mackenzie Rose Barnes.
