Rev. Kenneth "Ken" Wade Young

Reverend Kenneth “Ken” Wade Young, age 82, of McEwen, TN passed away surrounded by his family at TriStar Horizon Medical in Dickson, TN on Thursday, December 21, 2023. He was born in Humphreys County, TN on March 6, 1941 to the late Helen Marie Curtis Young and William Austin Young. Ken was a man of God. He loved the Lord his family and the church tremendously. He was a preacher for over 50 years. Ken received a PhD in Theology at Faith Bible College. Ken loved to travel. He traveled to Israel twice and Iceland while working with Consolidated Aluminum. Ken enjoyed reading, especially his Bible, playing and listening to music, and building guitars. Rev. Ken will be remembered as a loving pastor, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 64 years, Faye Young of McEwen, TN; sons, Michael Young (Jessica) of Burns, TN, Matthew Young (Wendy) of McEwen, TN and Marty Young of McEwen, TN; grandchildren, Brittainy Adams (Jordan), Reagan Young, Brady Young (Ashlyn), Blaise Young, Faith Young and Chace Young; great granddaughter, Bristol Adams; and brothers, Jim Young (Rose), Max Young (Eva), Reece Young (Ruth) and Alan Young (Carol) all of McEwen, TN.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Marlena Faye Young and sister, Patricia Marie Young.

A visitation will be held at Christ Community Church in McEwen, TN on Tuesday, December 26, 2023 beginning at 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at 2:00 P.M. Officiating the service will be Reverend David Lucas. Pallbearers will be Matthew Young, Michael Young, Marty Young, Brady Young, Tim Young and Tracy Young. Interment to follow at McEwen Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family asked that donations be made to the Christ Community Church because that was where Rev. Kenneth’s heart was.
