Reva Choate

Reva Choate, a beloved member of the McEwen community, passed away Monday, October 16, 2023, at the age of 91. Born on July 8, 1932, in McEwen, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Robert Herbert Choate and Elizabeth "Lizzie" Matlock Choate. Reva's bright spirit and kind heart touched the lives of all who knew her, and her memory will be cherished forever.

Reva was a dedicated and hardworking individual who pursued a career as a Long Distance Operator in the telephone industry. She found fulfillment in connecting people and helping them stay connected with their loved ones. Reva spent her entire career at Bell South, displaying a remarkable work ethic and commitment to her profession.

Despite her professional achievements, Reva's true joy was found in the simple pleasures of life. She cherished spending time with her family and friends, sharing stories, and creating lasting memories. In her memory, we remember her zest for life, her warm smile, and the unwavering love she shared with her family and friends. She will be deeply missed.

Reva's legacy will live on through her cousin Steve Matlock, who held a special place in her heart. Their bond was unbreakable, a testament to the love and respect they shared.

As we celebrate the life of Reva Choate, her family invites all who knew her to join them in honoring her extraordinary life. The visitation will take place Friday, October 27, 2023, from 6:00PM to 8:00PM, at Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in McEwen, and on Saturday, October 28, 2023 from 11:00AM until funeral service time beginning at 2:00PM. Bro. Nathan Davis will officiate the service. Interment will follow in Choate Cemetery in McEwen, TN.
