Thomas Verlie Jones

Thomas Verlie Jones, age 78 of Waverly, TN passed away at his residence on Thursday, November 9, 2022. Thomas was born in Waverly, TN on May 12, 1944 to the late Verlie and Elmea Davidson Jones. Thomas enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, fishing, boating, playing poker, turkey shoots and his rifles. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge. Thomas will be remembered by his family as a loving husband, father, papa, brother, uncle and friend.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 57 years, Ellen Jones of Waverly, TN; daughter, Diane Jones “Sissy” of Waverly, TN; son, Thomas Mark Jones “Tommy” (Lori) of Tallahassee, FL; 5 grandchildren, Sonya Gray (Chris) of Waverly, TN, Jimmy Jordan of Camden, TN; Christopher Jones of Tallahassee, FL, Cameron Jones of Tallahassee, FL and Susan Ivey (Brian) of Savannah, GA; 6 great grandchildren, Kaylee Gray, Kelsey Gray, Bryan Schoen, Caleb Seabaugh, Hailey Seabaugh and Gavin Ivey; brother, Gary Jones of McEwen, TN and sister, Anerbell Sullivan of Colonia, IL.

Thomas is preceded in death by his parents, Verlie and Elmea Jones; brothers, Buford Jones, Paul Jones and Bill Jones; sister, Becky Moran.

A graveside service will be held on December 3, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at the Jones Cemetery in Waverly, TN.
