Thomas “Tommy” Stephens Harvey, age 59 of McEwen, TN passed away Saturday, July 1, 2023, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Newport News, VA to the late James Melvin and Betty Lou Mathews Harvey. Tommy was a lifelong member of Glenwood United Methodist Church of Waverly, TN. He ministered at the Waverly jail for 9 years. Tommy loved Christ and always spread the good news to others. Tommy enjoyed sunsets, golfing, hunting, joking and most of all spending time with his family. He treated everyone like family. He was very giving and has helped many throughout his life. Tommy will be remembered by his family and friends as a devoted and loving husband, father, papaw, brother, uncle and friend.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 20 years, Kelley Harvey of McEwen, TN; daughter, Olivia Cunningham (Dylan) of Waverly, TN; son, Mathew Harvey of New Johnsonville, TN; step-sons, Corbin Jones of Waverly, TN, Kamron Jones (Lauren Rumsey) of Denver, CO, Morgan Palmer (Hannah) of McEwen, TN; siblings, Debbie Smith of Waverly, TN, Jackie Harvey (Sherry) of McEwen, Belinda May (Jim) of Hurricane Mills, TN, and Brian Harvey (Kimberly) of Waverly, TN; and grandchildren, Eleanor Cunningham, Gage Palmer and Aubree Palmer.
Along with his parents, Tommy is preceded in death by sister, Anita Harvey Baker.
A visitation will take place on Thursday, July 6, 2023, at Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in Waverly, beginning at 3:00 P.M. until the time of service at 6:00 P.M. Deacon Mike Matlock and Bro. Victor Gardner.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to 1st Federal Bank in McEwen or Waverly to go toward Tommy’s medical expenses.
Arrangements are entrusted to Luff-Bowen Funeral Home.
