Walter Boyd Werfel

Walter “Boyd” Werfel, age 68 of Waverly, TN passed away Saturday, April 15, 2023. Boyd was born on
February 25, 1955 in Waverly, TN to the late Mary Ann Ladd Werfel and Walter Leo Werfel. Boyd
proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Waverly for 38
years. He enjoyed gardening, going to the beach and reading. His pride and joy was
his family, especially his grandchildren.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 43 years, Karen Werfel of Waverly, TN; children, Dr. Krystal
Werfel (Edgar Santana) of Papillion, NE, Stacie Werfel of Nashville, TN and Dr. Thomas Werfel (Ashton)
of Oxford, MS; grandchildren, Finley Beth Werfel, Walter Carson Werfel, Benjamin Lee Santana and
Bryce Rafael Santana; and brother, Larry Werfel.
Along with his parents, Boyd is preceded in death by his brother, David Werfel.
A visitation will be held for Mr. Boyd Werfel on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 beginning at 4:00 P.M. until 8:00
P.M. at Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in Waverly and on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. until the
time of service at 11:00 A.M. Officiating will be Dr. Thomas Werfel. Interment to take place at Richlawn
Cemetery in Waverly.
