Wesley "Knox" Richard Phillips

Staff Sergeant Wesley "Knox" Richard Phillips, Retired, United States Air Force, age 64, of Waverly, TN, passed away Thursday, May 26, 2022, at Nashville VA Medical Center, in Nashville, TN. Wesley's last day this side of eternity was spent peacefully surrounded by the love of family and friends. He was born November 10, 1957, in Waverly, TN, to James Richard Phillips and Ophelia Jean Pace Phillips. Staff Sergeant Phillips served for 20 years and retired from the United States Air Force, having served during Desert Storm. He also worked and retired from the Civil Service to his love of hunting, fishing, construction, and tinkering with old cars and trucks. Visitation with the family will be Sunday, May 29, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at the Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in Waverly. A public Graveside Service will be held Memorial Day, Monday, May 30, 2022, at 10:00 a.m., at Wyly Cemetery on Stage Road, in Waverly, TN. Bro. Jeff Keele will be officiating the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to DAV or VFW. You may also leave your donations at Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in Waverly and we will gladly forward them for you.
