Wilson Ray Harris

Mr. Wilson "Ray" Harris, age 80 of New Johnsonville, TN passed away Friday, July 30, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family. Ray was born December 13, 1940 in Humphreys County to Thomas Harris and Elsie Capps Harris. He was an Appliance Serviceman for G&A Furniture and Appliance Express. Ray was a member of the Maple Valley Baptist Church in Nunnelly, TN where he served as a Deacon for 40 years, the Song Leader, and Adult Sunday School Teacher. He was also a member of the Waverly Masonic Logde #304 and a Shriner. He married Patricia Breece Harris and they had three children, Cathey, Angie, and Melinda. Visitation with the family will be Sunday, August 1, 2021 at Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in Waverly from 12 noon until time of service at 3pm. Bro. Jimmy Andrews will officiate the service. Interment will follow in Spot Cemetery in Nunnelly, TN. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Patricia Breece Harris, New Johnsonville. Two daughters: Angie Johnson and husband Terry, Columbia, TN Melinda Stafford and husband Mike, New Johnsonville Four grandchildren: Taylor Johnson, Brady Johnson and wife Hanna, Austin Stafford and wife Michaela, and Aubrey Stafford. One great-grandchild: Easton Stafford. He is preceded in death by a daughter, Cathey Harris, his parents, Thomas and Elsie Harris, and two sisters, Catherine Mayberry and Betty Baker.
